Emiko Ihara: Registered Massage Therapist
Emiko has extensive experience in the Health and Wellness field. Before attending WCCMT, she attained a Bachelors degree in Recreation and Health Education from the University of Victoria and worked in the fitness industry for over 4 years as a personal trainer for the Canadian Forces. These experiences contribute to her passion for active living and have led to a desire to serve in the healthcare field.
Emiko has experience treating a wide scope of conditions such as; chronic pain, fibromyalgia, whiplash, postural dysfunction, athletic injuries, headaches and immobility. She believes in customizing each treatment to meet the patient’s needs, using a range of techniques including; trigger point release, muscle energy technique, soft tissue release, deep tissue massage, hydrotherapy and therapeutic exercise. With a passion for patient education and empowerment, Emiko helps patients to achieve their goals while working with an open, easy communication style.
Meredith Withers: Registered Clinical Counsellor
Meredith is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, currently practicing in Victoria, BC. She completed her Master’s of Education Degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Victoria and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Western Ontario. In addition, she is a certified yoga teacher with the European Yoga Alliance.
Meredith’s counselling approach is holistic, with a focus on generating wellness for your mind, body and spirit. Her practice is grounded in strengths-based, person-centered, and body-focused approaches. She respects and values the diversity of all the clients she meets with, and is committed to collaborating with you in a way that is appropriate for your own personal process.
Meredith has a particular interest in pre and postnatal mental health, weaving her clinical and personal experience together to offer support in a genuine, caring way. Meredith incorporates her background in Yoga and Meditation, as well as her love of travel and nature into her practice. As a busy mother of two small boys, Meredith is continually learning and growing herself.
